-Turn off IS if using tripod

-Framing assist button on left side
 is complicated and useless
-To See TIME - Hold Function key
-Custom SELF TIMER - can adjust delay and # of shots
  =Only adjust delay for movies.
  =highlight custom timer and hit menu
-Hg - Corrects for Murcury Lamps green effect
-MANUAL FOCUS
 =When adjusting, pressing the right 
  button will magnify display to help you focus
 =can AUTO fine tune by pushing shutter half way
  after rough focusing and before 
  hitting SET - will adjust focus a Little.
 =This auto focus fix can be turned off in MENU
  by turning off -> Safety MF
-Use Canon Camera Window to connect to camera
-Use Image Transfer Utility to backup to web as well as my computer
 =NOT sure if movies get saved full size
-Can change setting to only upload pics and not movies

-Syncs to www.canon.com/cig/ canon image gateway
  as well as google drive, whereis

  =FACE SELF TIMER - new face in scene

   MUST change mode to stop

-HIGH SPEED BURST
 =A series of high speed shots
 =For capturing action
 =Shown as one group in camera

-HANDHELD NIGHT
 =Combines multiple pics into one pic
 =for scenes or portraits with scene background
 =hold camera steady
 =better to use AUTO if w/tripod

LOW LIGHT
 =Low camera shake for low light

-SNOW
 =for people in snowy backgrounds

-FIREWORKS
 =Best w/tripod
 =Set IS off
 =Automatically focuses

CREATIVE FILTERS

-FISH EYE - useless

-MINIATURE EFFECT - useless
 =Blurs area outside of selection
 =makes it look like a model
 =can change playback speed on movies
 =not much use

-TOY CAMERA - useless
 =Blurs Edges etc.

-SOFT FOCUS
 =good for flowers, etc
 =Can Adjust the amount of blur

-MONOCHROME
 =black & white, sepia, blue & white

-SUPER VIVID
 =Great for Birds etc

-POSTER Effect - useless

MOVIE MODE

-UP button will allow exposure locking or adjusting

-Super Slow Playback
 =for playing slow motion videos
 240 fps takes twice as long to playback (slower motion)
 than 120 fps

-The lowest setting - 640x480 is good enough for most things.   
  The next to lowest setting is good enough to fill a small screen,
   & is still small enough.
  -Higher settings are too big for most uses
    -The highest setting does not even play well on my computer
  -watching through Google drive, they are all smooth

P = PROGRAM MODE

-To Lock EXPOSURE
 =HOLD Button halfway down & 
  hit the UP button
  an * will show at bottom of screen.
  will unlock after shot or if UP is pressed
  DURING hold, can use dial to adjust
    aperature/shutter speed combo

-MY COLORS (paint tube)
 =Vivid Blue is good for Ocean Colors
 =Vivid Green - for foliage/mountains
 =Vivid Red - for flowers
 =Darken/Lighten Skin Tone
 =Positive Film - more like color slides,
  a bit more vivid, but also natural

i-Contrast
 -When on Aut, will adjust the dark areas
  in High Contrast scenes like a room with 
  a window.  Could be unpredictable, but 
  worth trying out sometimes.
 =This can alsobe done during view/edit

Safety MF - turns on auto fix for manual focus

Digital Zoom - Can increase Focal Length
   to cause faster shutter speeds and less zoom

i-Contrast
 -adjust the dark areas in High Contrast
 scenes like a room with a window.

Reduce File Size
 =Compresses movies to HD-30P format
 =Use Compress and Save to keep original
