So plans change. Originally I was going leave early June to go directly to Norway and loop clockwise through Loffeton islands and back down through Latvia etc. Then decide on a direction. Another rider from ADVRider.com was doing the same thing but counterclockwise and at an earlier time.
Well, my later start than planned would have put me back in the main part of Europe when everyone else was traveling and when it's really hot.
So I did what I did so far, sticking to high elevations and amazing roads, planning on going into Norway early August and wandering around until a scheduled meet up about the 19th with the other rider to ride the Loffeton islands of Norway and the coast.
Well, everyone's plans changed and it looks like I will be heading to Copenhagen for the meet up and ride counterclockwise into Estonia etc before heading for the Loffeton islands then south along the coast.
Dam this auto correct feature. Anywhere you see Loffeton islands, replace that with Lofoten Islands.
This is a loose riding partnership as we will be heading in different directions from time to time. I don't have a time limit as does the other rider.
Here is my dilemma. I have 4,000 miles on a set of tires I normally get 8,000 miles or more out of. These 4,000 miles have been anything but normal. I am guessing I can get a max of another 3,000 miles That's a guess, but that would almost be enough. Almost.
So I need tires no later than Estonia as Sweden is crazy expensive and after that, time is an issue.
For practical reasons Germany is probably the best bet. That gives me 3 days to find and mount tires if I want to keep to schedule (that would be a first).
Or, I can schedule ahead for Latvia and part ways for a bit and change them there.
Stay tuned as plans change.
