I have been commuting and traveling by motorcycle around North America since 1986 almost exclusively on Harley's, until 2009 when I had an unfortunate event with a deer and ended up buying a Honda ST 1300 to replace my damaged ride. I currently ride an average of 20,000 miles a year and as of July 2019 I have ridden a total of 979,000 mile on bikes. The links on my page are to trip reports of some of my trips. Much of my riding is done in Long Distance Rider fashion, meaning lots of miles in few days. I have included links to a few LD Rider related sites.
In June of 2018 everything changed. I retired, and became a part time Nomad, with no real home. In July 2018 I shipped a bike to Europe, and started traveling. The plan is to ride until I get tired of riding. 3 Months?, 3 Years?, no way to tell. I used to want to go everywhere, see everything. Now, a bit older, I want to avoid some of the difficult bits unless there is something worth the effort to see or do. Life is an Adventure. And one of my favorite quotes: "Man Plans and the Gods Laugh". So I really don't expect things to go as planned.
Here is a photo of my last long distance Harley-Davidson, a 2004 FLHT Electra Glide Standard. As of September 2009 it had 95,000 miles on the odometer. Hey, I've got other bikes to ride too you know. Give me a break. I might mention that, on September 1, 2009 a big mule deer jumped out in front of me in Colorado, and totaled the bike.... And the deer. I was fine though.
I have also done some high mileage touring on a 2001 Kawasaki KLR 650, basically a large dirt bike or enduro. I currently own a Honda ST1300 and a Triumph Tiger 800 XC.

Two pics of my Honda, yes, that is snow in the second pic. I was on my way to Florida to escape the cold.
ABOUT ME:
I like to ride motorcycles, travel and SCUBA dive. I like it best when I can combine the three. I enjoy writing occasionally, and sometimes rant.
So, does that answer who I am? Unless you want to know my whole name. I like a bit of anonymity, so am keeping my last name off this site for the most part. I also, for the most part, keep other peoples names off this site.
