RANT
I TRIED. I really tried, to like WordPress (or Blogspot or whatever)
I spent a ton of time trying to get it to work for me. Nothing works as well as my static web site.
I can set it up faster, I can edit it faster, and other than the occasional quirk on a phone, it looks better.
No, a BLoggers life ain’t for me.
For wordpress to work well for me, I have to be able to move files to it in the manner that I want to. I am trying FileZilla, putting the pics in the correct folder by year/month, and then copying and pasting my web page into it, then editing the web page to only show the pics from the correct location.
I can find no way to upload the pics for previous months. I can load them into a post with a previous date, which puts them in the right spot, but the file date is from the date it is put in, so it will not show the correct ones when you look at a month of pics (upload in June, want them to be May pics) I can upload with FileZilla w/o changing the date, but that still kinda screws things up.
Or maybe not, it looks like when I download it, it saves it w/the correct date, even if it is one of the smaller versions of it. Weird.

I have been trying WordPress again. The app has improved and I am liking it a little more. Still, my static pages are better, at least for me.
I am using Smugmug along with my site to show pics. I am not sure if I will use WordPress or not.

There have been some improvements to WordPress on the phone. I will have to concede that it is currently the easiest way to post short articles. I still prefer to use my static web site but WordPress for posts along with Smugmug for photos will be easier than my static site on the road. I will maintain my old site forever, but will use WordPress as well. They should mirror each other in time.
